The responding fire departments from Wendell and Hopkins managed to extinguish the blaze without any injuries reported.
In the aftermath of the fire, consumed by flames, the Wake County Fire Marshal’s Office, along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, have taken the reins in determining the cause of the initial explosion and subsequent fire. Currently, the details around how the fire started remain under wraps as the investigation is active with no further information available as of now.
Local residents were shocked by the morning explosion that disrupted the peace of their normally quiet neighborhood. The fire's intensity necessitated a swift response from emergency services, which included multiple fire departments and law enforcement. As investigations continue, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Despite the lack of injuries which is a fortunate turn, the property damage is evident, leaving the house in question gutted and charred.
