Reno residents, mark your calendars for a day of autumnal celebration. The Ward 4 Fall Festival is on the horizon, offering a slate of seasonal activities for families and individuals alike. The event takes place on October 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dorothy McAlinden Park, as confirmed in a news release from the city's official website.
Organized by Councilmember Meghan Ebert, the festivity is billed as an age-inclusive gathering with an assortment of attractions. Those heading down to the park at 14000 Stead Blvd. will find pumpkin decorating, various games and a spread of treats from La Victoria Coffee, NOLA Sliders, and Taqueria Villegas. To sweeten the deal, the first 100 guests will snag food tickets as part of the no-cost affair.
With community at its core, the festival has rallied local organizations to participate. According to a statement by the City of Reno, SAVE, Reno Food Systems, and Nevada 211, alongside the Senior Resident Advisory Board, will be present to share resources and program information. Adding to the fun, the Parks and Recreation Department will roll out its Rolling Recreation Center equipped with yard games, sports balls, table games, and crafts.
"This event is a wonderful opportunity for families and friends in Ward 4 and beyond to connect with one another and enjoy the festive spirit of fall," Councilmember Ebert said in the city's news release. She invites the whole community to partake in the festivities and embrace the camaraderie the event aims to foster.
