A recent search of a home in West Bloomfield has resulted in the arrest of 19-year-old Deago Harrell, now facing charges related to possessing counterfeit currency and unauthorized personal documents. According to a report by WXYZ, authorities executed the raid around 6 a.m. Wednesday, where they uncovered a range of items including semiautomatic pistols, a shotgun, various electronics, prescription pills, and financial documents belonging to victims, alongside counterfeit cash.

West Bloomfield police, assisted by the Southwest Oakland Special Response Team, uncovered a cache of evidence that suggests Harrell was operating a multifaceted illegal enterprise from the 7800 block of Timberlane Trail residence. The FOX 2 Detroit report detailed the seizure of loaded and unloaded magazines, laptops, a tablet, smartphones, as well as personal victim information recorded in notebooks.

Following the search and seizure, Harrell was charged with Uttering and Publishing Counterfeit Bills or Notes, a crime that involves the creation or distribution of counterfeit currency. He was arraigned and faced with a $75,000 cash/surety bond. ClickOnDetroit reported that along with the fraudulent monetary items, checks in victims’ names, stolen credit cards, and victims' driver's licenses were found in Harrell's possession during the raid.

The West Bloomfield Police Department is actively investigating a counterfeit scheme and is asking for the public’s help. Anyone with information should call 248-975-8905, as per FOX 2 Detroit.
