Over the past weekend, a threat against Kingston Community Schools in Michigan was found to be a prank involving AI technology, school officials confirmed. In a statement on the district's Facebook page, Superintendent Shona Vennevy said, "At this time, there is no credible or ongoing threat to our students, staff, or school community," as reported by CBS News Detroit.

Kingston Village Police, with help from the FBI, identified the students behind a false threat. The students have been removed from the school, and the Tuscola County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing possible charges, according to WNEM. Following the incident, additional police were assigned to schools as a precaution, the Kingston Police Facebook post said.

An AI-generated hoax appeared on Snapchat, causing concern at Kingston Community Schools in Michigan. Authorities investigated the threat and confirmed it was false.
