A Beaver County man has been sentenced for his role in a fatal incident outside a local bar in 2021. Kijana Lowe, 28, of Aliquippa, received a prison sentence of two to five years after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter for punching a man during a dispute. According to WPXI, the altercation resulted in the victim developing a blood clot that led to his death following surgery.
The Attorney General, Dave Sunday, referred to Lowe's actions as "callous and without regard for human life." Lowe, who is already serving a federal sentence of 10 years for drug trafficking, will have the involuntary manslaughter sentence run concurrently, as reported by WTAE. The incident, which occurred after a heated exchange outside a bar, set off the tragic events that unfolded over the two weeks that ultimately claimed the victim's life.
In addition to the prison term, Lowe has been ordered to pay $3,000 in restitution toward the victim's funeral costs.
