Boulder County is reaching out to its residents to gather their perspectives on the future of public transit within the region. The county's Community Planning and Permitting department is spearheading a new initiative called Linking Boulder County: A Shared Vision for Transit. The goal is to craft a comprehensive transit plan that considers the diverse needs and desires of those who live, work, or pay visits to Boulder County.
For the first time, a countywide vision for transit is being drafted with the intention to improve accessibility and utility for everyone who relies on various forms of transit, including RTD buses, mountain shuttles, and services like Ride Free Lafayette and paratransit. The plan aims to address the county's evolving transportation requirements, not just for today but looking forward to the future as well. Boulder County officials are actively seeking public opinion to influence how they will ultimately shape the plan, according to Boulder County.
Contributions from the community are essential for guiding the development of Linking Boulder County. Residents are encouraged to express their transit needs and contribute to envisioning what the future of transit in Boulder should look like through several avenues. An online Transit Needs Survey is available until Thursday, Nov. 20, and those interested can take the survey to share their input. Additionally, a virtual open house is scheduled on Thursday, Nov. 6, from 5:30-7:00 p.m., providing an opportunity for county denizens to offer feedback directly.
