A 28-year-old Bronx man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a woman outside a Bronx nightclub early Sunday morning. The NYPD announced that Cristian Moya was charged last with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon, after allegedly attacking 35-year-old Pamela Almonte Cabrera outside the Mama Dora club on East Kingsbridge Road, The New York Post reports.

According to eyewitness accounts obtained by ABC7NY, the incident occurred at approximately 4 a.m. when an argument inside the lounge escalated and poured onto the street, turning violent. A chaotic brawl ensued that involved multiple people, the situation intensified quickly, Cabrera was reportedly trying to defend someone in her group when she was stabbed several times in the chest; Moya is accused of committing the stabbing, after which he attempted to flee the scene on a scooter. Video evidence, detailed by witnesses, captures the man responsible for the fatal attack—identified by police as Moya—placing a beer bottle on the ground before lunging and running towards the crowd with a stabbing motion. "The woman that got stabbed went outside first with her man and then the other man they had trouble with came outside. The woman's man made a signal and told another guy and then there was a scuffle," an eyewitness told ABC7NY.

The victim, Cabrera, was initially taken to BronxCare Health Systems, then later transferred to NYC Health & Hospitals/Lincoln where she was pronounced dead. Reports suggest Cabrera intervened in the fight to protect a man identified by locals as her husband after he was knocked to the ground; during her intervention, she was stabbed multiple times with what witnesses claim to be a shattered bottle used by Moya to deliver the fatal blows. "She got in the middle so they wouldn't get to her husband, and that's when she got stabbed," a witness described to The New York Post.

Moya, who fled the melee scene, was apprehended two days later and faces serious charges which, if convicted, could lead to substantial prison time. Surveillance footage from the scene, still under review by law enforcement, has played a crucial role in identifying Moya as the main suspect the video reportedly shows Moya wearing a bright yellow jacket, and jumping about before lunging to commit the assault.
