Clark County is bringing in new blood to its senior management. Daniel Stewart has been appointed as the Deputy County Manager, an update shared by County Manager Kevin Schiller. With a decision pending Board ratification on October 21, Stewart's commitment to public service and law is expected to bolster the County's leadership, particularly as it wades through a variety of public service challenges.
Stewart, whose career has been punctuated with roles such as General Counsel under Governor Sandoval and Chief Strategy Officer under Governor Sisolak, comes to the County from a recent stint as Head of the Nevada Government Relations Team for Brownstein Hyatt Farber and Schreck. According to a Clark County press release, Schiller expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "I am thrilled Daniel is joining the County’s Senior Management Team, and I believe his background will bring a significant amount of experience to the County as we navigate a number of issues on behalf of the public we serve in the months and years ahead."
The new Deputy County Manager is also poised to take on alignment tasks among various departments, including the District Attorney, the Public Defender, and the District Court. Stewart is not a stranger to these domains, having navigated the intersecting realms of politics and policy in past roles, an aspect Schiller is keen to capitalize on.
For his part, Stewart is eager to re-engage with public service, a sentiment he articulated when discussing his new role. "Throughout my career, I felt most connected to the work I have done in service to others, and I am very much looking forward to returning to public service," Stewart said, his words placing a spotlight on his intended path forward at Clark County. His tenure is set to commence on October 13, embarking on a journey with a team tasked with uplifting the lives of the County's numerous residents.
