
A collaborative sting operation between the DEA and the Seattle Police Department has rounded up ten individuals tied to drug and gun trafficking schemes, as announced by U.S. Attorney Charles Neil Floyd, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Washington reports. The arrestees, implicated in circulating fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin throughout western Washington, made their initial appearances in a federal court in Seattle over the past couple of days.
According to U.S. Attorney's Office, Western District of Washington, yesterday's law enforcement haul included 34 firearms, alongside a hefty cache of illegal drugs – the DEA's David F. Reames pointed out the group's reach spanning from Lewis to Snohomish County, and the subsequent risk to public safety adding the agents involved faced significant danger dismantling such a "heavily armed Transnational Criminal Organization", in a statement obtained by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Washington. Seattle’s top cop, Police Chief Shon Barnes, praised the cooperative efforts that led to pulling weapons off the streets of his jurisdiction.
Among those swept up in the operation are Luis Humberto Lamas-Guzman, Eduardo Villavicencio-Salido, and Silvestre Ramos Martinez, each of them nabbed on separate indictments. Details released alongside their names indicate a wide net of law enforcement arms contributing to the day's efforts, which extended to a stash house in Centralia, Washington, where Jose Isabel Sandoval Zuniga was apprehended with a sizable quantity of suspected fentanyl, heroin, fentanyl pills, and a loaded gun at his home, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Washington communicates.
The deluge of apprehensions brought about the confiscation of approximately 100,000 fentanyl pills and significant quantities of other illicit substances, including 34 kilos of fentanyl powder; the DEA's concerted endeavor, supported by an extensive ensemble of local and federal squads, illustrates a part of Operation Take Back America's strategy, aimed to fight illegal immigration, disrupt cartels, and protect neighborhoods from violent crime.
