After 27 years in Montrose, Paulie’s Restaurant and its adjacent Camerata Wine Bar will close at the end of the year. Owner Paul Petronella stated on social media that efforts to renegotiate the lease with the landlord were not successful. “After 27 years of serving our beloved community, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of Paulie’s Restaurant and Camerata Wine Bar,” he wrote, according to KHOU.

Leading up to the closure, Paulie’s and Camerata will continue normal operations. The owners invited the Houston community to visit during the holiday season and share final memories. Petronella wrote on Facebook, “I’ve worked in this building for more than half of my life. I grew up here, I learned here and I loved it here,” as reported by Houston Chronicle.

The businesses were known for serving pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and wine and for hosting community gatherings. Owner Paul Petronella said, “Our family has been privileged to host countless gatherings, celebrations, and everyday meals for our loyal customers,” and announced there are no immediate plans to relocate. He added in the Houston Chronicle, “I plan to transition into an industry that will still involve food and nutrition. I will share that as it evolves, for now I’m focusing on celebrating 27 years!” Petronella closed with, “THANK YOU SO MUCH, HOUSTON! With love, Paul,” as per KHOU.
