A significant operation by the FBI in Pittsburgh has resulted in the capture of 19 individuals wanted for various offenses, including drug trafficking and violent crimes. The successful initiative, spanning five days from October 6th to October 10th, was part of a larger FBI effort to tamp down on violent crime across the nation, as reported by WPXI. The operation saw 19 fugitives taken into custody, the majority of whom were located in Western Pennsylvania, although two arrests extended the arm of the law into North Carolina and Kansas.
According to details shared by WTAE, one man wanted out of Allegheny County for stalking, harassment, and physical violence against an ex-girlfriend was apprehended by the FBI in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Another individual with a federal arrest warrant for sexually assaulting two girls in his care, making the streets a little bit safer, was arrested in Kansas City, Kansas.
In the scope of the operation, both local and federal law enforcement agencies, including the FBI Pittsburgh, the United States Marshals Service, the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office, and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit, joined forces. Their collective efforts were geared toward "identify targets, collect intelligence, conduct investigative analysis," resulting in these multiple arrests.
