Treat Dreams ice cream shop at 22965 Woodward Avenue in Ferndale will become a food hall called the Pavilion, opening in early 2026. The 4,000-square-foot space will have six food stalls, including the ice cream shop, and a rotating guest vendor each month, as reported by Deadline Detroit. Owner Scott Moloney said, “It will be one part street market, one part pop-up space with a 40-person pop-up space in the rear of the store," and “And then it will be one part restaurant incubator, that's where the rotating stall comes in." The ice cream shop will stay open during construction, according to The Detroit News.
The Pavilion will feature chef Josie Clemens from "Hell's Kitchen" serving travel-inspired vegan cuisine, and alumnus Jared Bobkin offering an Asian cuisine restaurant focused on dumplings. It will also include a nonalcoholic beverage bar, Cosmic Roots, from musician Emily Infinity and herbalist Isabel Cali, serving kava, botanicals, and coffee, and the Venezuelan food truck Papelon from St. Clair Shores, bringing arepas. Moloney said, "They have popped up at Urbanrest before and they have a great following in Ferndale," and added, "We're not going to take ourselves too seriously," as per The Detroit News.
Before the Pavilion's opening, some events are planned for Ferndale residents. Gina Onyx's Komodo Kitchen will have a pop-up on November 7-8, with details on its website. Information on future pop-ups and Pavilion updates is available on Treat Dreams' social media, though the shop has not posted an official statement on its website.
