Designed to bolster the abilities of SWAT Operators, Medics, and Negotiators, this session presented a unique opportunity to gain deeper understanding and hone their crisis management skills. According to a social media post from the Largo Police Department, the participants benefited from tactical debriefs and discussions on officer wellness and mental health.
Highlighting the day were guest speakers Raul Rivas and Doug Monda, who imparted critical insights through their tactical debrief of the Pulse Nightclub tragedy. Sharing powerful discussions, the event addressed the often-overlooked aspect of officer wellness, a topic that is, serving the community and the officers' well-being, vitally important. Through initiatives such as these, the Largo Police Department champions the cause of comprehensive law enforcement training with an emphasis on mental health.
