Las Vegas will start the week with warm and dry weather before rain and storms become possible later on. According to the National Weather Service, “Dry conditions and a warming trend will continue today and Wednesday as high pressure builds across the region.” Temperatures are expected to rise above normal by Wednesday, with breezy conditions in the Colorado River Valley and nearby areas. From Thursday through Saturday, remnants of Hurricane Priscilla could bring rain and storms to the region.
The National Weather Service reports “increasing confidence for showers and thunderstorms” toward the weekend as the remnants of Hurricane Priscilla move into the region. Forecast models show Priscilla’s remains moving northwest along the Baja coast before turning northeast, bringing a higher chance of rain. “The best and most widespread precipitation chances remain favored for Friday,” with precipitable water values expected to reach 300% of normal, which could lead to efficient rainfall and possible flooding. Limited instability and cloud cover may reduce rainfall intensity.
Aviation forecasts for Harry Reid International Airport call for VFR conditions with light northeast winds through the day. The National Weather Service states, “Northeast winds are expected essentially all day today, averaging around 7 knots.” Similar VFR conditions are expected across southern Nevada, northwest Arizona, and southeast California, with spotters encouraged to report any significant weather or impacts.
