As a new week begins in Sin City, the weather is set to cooperate, keeping Las Vegas’ signature glitz and glamour under comfortably mild conditions. According to the National Weather Service Las Vegas NV, locals and tourists alike can expect "a slow warming trend," which shall usher in "near normal temperatures through early next week."
Forecasters say Las Vegas is in for a dry spell, bringing a calm and mild touch to the fall season. The National Weather Service confirms a gentle upward swing in the mercury, with Sunday and Monday anticipated to reflect seasonal averages. And, while a "weak midweek system" might invite cooler temps, "increasing winds and clouds, and a chance of showers to portions of the region," precipitation probabilities linger in the modest range of 10-20% over northwestern Arizona come Wednesday.
Aviators navigating through or to Harry Reid should anticipate clear sailing if the weather forecast holds its course. The 12Z Forecast Package predicts "Light winds following typical diurnal directional patterns are expected through the forecast period" across the grid. Any wind variations won't strain past a mellow 8KT, and the skies will mainly boast "VFR conditions," albeit with a tapestry of high clouds painted at around 20kft as the backdrop, as detailed by the NWS.
Extending the scope to encompass southern Nevada, northwest Arizona, and southeast California, sustained winds are expected to float around the 10KT mark. Given, certain locales like the Owens Valley and Lower Colorado River Valley might experience gusts nudging up to 15KT for a brief period this afternoon into early evening, it's hardly a cause for alarm. Those clouds should linger, setting bases at a lofty 20-25kft, thickening as the forecast period marches on.
Meanwhile, the NWS tips its hat to local spotters, reminding them to stay vigilant. The SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT urges community observers to "report any significant weather or impacts according to standard operating procedures."
