A man was subjected to a stabbing in the Capitol Hill neighborhood during a carjacking gone awry Monday night, according to the Seattle Police Department Blotter. Police responded to the incident, which took place near the 2000 block of Broadway East, at approximately 8:40 p.m., where they found the 44-year-old victim with a stab wound to his leg. The victim received medical assistance on-site from the officers until Seattle Fire Department medics took over. He was then transported to Harborview Medical Center by American Medical Response.
An investigation into the stabbing revealed that two male suspects, faces obscured by black masks approached the man's car, one opened the door and proceeded to stab the man in the leg in an attempt to hijack the vehicle, the vehicle remained in the victim's possession as he managed to maintain control and the assailants fled on foot towards the east, this event occurred not long after a similar incident was reported at 10th Avenue East and East Miller Street where again two masked suspects attempted to commandeer a vehicle but failed to gain access and swiftly fled the scene.
As of this time, no arrests have been made in either case; both incidents are currently under the investigation of the Homicide and Assault Unit of the Seattle Police Department. Seattle Police are urging anyone with information to step forward and contact the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000, as community input may prove essential in the apprehension of the suspects in question.
