The City of Melvindale, Wayne County, Michigan, has lifted the boil water advisory that was issued two days ago. City officials shared the update on social media and acknowledged residents for their patience, as reported by CBS News Detroit.

On Wednesday, a drop in water pressure raised concerns about possible bacterial contamination, leading to a precautionary boil water advisory. The Melvindale Police Department shared steps for residents and businesses to follow after the advisory, according to ClickOnDetroit.

City officials lifted the water advisory and instructed residents to flush their hot water lines for about 15 minutes and replace any water filters used during the advisory. "Thank you to the Great Lakes Water Authority, CERT, volunteers, and MEPD & DBFD for handing out water," and "We would also like to thank our residents for their patience and great attitude during this difficult time," said Melvindale Police Chief Chris Egan, as mentioned by FOX 2 Detroit. Bottled water had been distributed to residents at the John K. Kessey Fieldhouse on Wednesday.
