The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to the accident around 2:40 p.m., which involved an SUV and the motorcycle. Evidence from the scene indicates that the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound when the crash occurred, the motorcycle collided with a Kia Sorento, whose driver was making a left turn without yielding; this collision resulted in the motorcyclist being ejected onto the road, 8 News Now reports. The driver of the Kia, 44-year-old Christopher Vohs, was arrested on DUI charges after showing signs of impairment; he is scheduled for a court appearance on Sunday.
The injured person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police detectives are investigating what caused the crash, and the lanes remain closed while crews clean up and collect evidence.
