With the savory aroma of sausages and the dulcet tones of oompah bands on the horizon, Wurstfest 2025 is set to transform New Braunfels into a hub of German-inspired festivities. According to the City of New Braunfels' latest alert, to adequately prepare for the revelry, specific roads will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic but will remain accessible for pedestrians. Landa Street will notably be partially shut down from Zink Street to Landa Park Drive, with closures spanning from November 7 to November 16 at varied times throughout the days.
For those planning to immerse themselves in the polka dancing and pretzel-eating, parking is anticipated to quickly become scarce. Directives suggest utilizing shuttle services from nearby accommodations, with additional information to be found on the Wurstfest website. Attendees might want to plan their visit accordingly, or risk having to navigate the notorious parking shuffle.
Rideshare users, fear not—the city has allocated a specific area for Uber, Lyft, and other corresponding services, which will be situated on Mill Race Run in Landa Park. Meanwhile, larger groups arriving via charter buses, motorcoaches, party buses, or limos will have a different route sketched out for them, designed to sidestep low clearance bridges and other potential roadblocks. This route will encompass Loop 337 & Common Street onward to Union Street, then Union Street to W. Torrey Street, concluding on Elizabeth Ave at Hinman Island. This should, in theory, streamline the process of dropping off and picking up partygoers.
For those opting to nimbly course through the festival environs in a golf cart, adherence to local ordinances remains paramount. As outlined by the City of New Braunfels, golf carts are to not be driven at night and should boast intact and functional required equipment. Proof of insurance is also non-negotiable, and enthusiasts are reminded not to traverse restricted roads, nor to park upon the grass as per Ordinance 86-4(c).
