The New Tampa Performing Arts Center (NTPAC) has kicked off its season on a high note with an attendees count climbing to over 3,000 at its Annual Arts Festival. The festival, which ran from September 12 to 14, raked in nearly a thousand more participants than the previous year, signaling a flourishing interest in the arts among New Tampa locals, according to Hillsborough County's news release.
From ballet to interactive children's music booths, the weekend was jam-packed with performances and activities. Noteworthy was Tampa City Ballet's sold-out showing of "Cinderella" and the Cultural Arts Theater's initiative to get the audience grooving in a dance circle. A high point for many, as per the report, was when St. Pete Opera and Tampa City Ballet teamed up to deliver a "stunning" collaborative finale that closed the extravaganza.
Local performers weren't the only highlight. The NTPAC's "instrument petting zoo" provided a hands-on experience for young would-be musicians, giving them a chance to toot, strum, and bang on various instruments under the guidance of professionals. The popular activity firmly reinforces the center's commitment to making performing arts approachable and interactive for attendees of all ages.
Looking forward, it's evident NTPAC has tapped into a vibrant demand for cultural experiences in the New Tampa area. The lasting impact of events such as the Annual Arts Festival goes beyond a packed schedule — it fosters an appreciation for performing arts and strengthens community bonds. With such a strong start to their 2025-26 season, NTPAC is poised to remain a pivotal cultural establishment in the city's landscape.
