While Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx can expect highs in the low 60s and mostly clear skies today, Staten Island will have similar conditions albeit slightly warmer with a chill setting in across the board tonight, the wind gusts reaching up to 24 mph in certain areas.
As the weekend approaches, forecasts predict a shift in winds from northeast to southeast and rising temperatures, with highs around 69 degrees on Saturday. Cloud cover is expected to increase Saturday night, bringing a 50 percent chance of rain, followed by a higher likelihood of rain on Sunday after 2 p.m., with precipitation chances rising to 60–70 percent. These predictions come from forecasts for Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island.
Meanwhile, a Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued for certain areas outside the city including parts of New Jersey and southeast New York where a freeze warning is in effect from midnight tonight to 9 am Friday with temperatures potentially dipping to freezing points, spotters, however, are not expected to be activated during this period as stated in the outlook published by the National Weather Service.
Next week, a coastal storm may bring strong winds and coastal flooding to southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey, and southeast New York from Sunday into Monday.
