Today’s weather reports showed that New Yorkers across all five boroughs were getting ready for a variety of conditions. In Manhattan, there was an 80% chance of morning showers and a possible thunderstorm, expected to taper off by midday, accompanied by wind gusts of up to 26 mph. Conditions in Brooklyn and Queens mirrored Manhattan's, with slight variations in wind speeds and temperatures. The Bronx forecast included showers and thunderstorms before clear skies in the evening.
Staten Island, differing slightly from the other boroughs, faced a 70% chance of showers early in the day, though partly sunny skies and breezy conditions were expected by the afternoon, with wind gusts potentially reaching up to 31 mph, as detailed in the borough’s forecast.
Meanwhile, the National Weather Service indicated no significant hazardous conditions for the New York City area beyond the current date, aside from a wind advisory in effect for southeastern New York until 9 a.m. the same day, as noted in the Hazardous Weather Outlook.
For the rest of the week, skies across the boroughs are forecast to remain mostly clear, with sunny to mostly sunny conditions prevailing and daytime highs generally ranging from the upper 50s to mid-60s. Cool winds are expected to persist, leading to colder nights with temperatures dropping into the 40s. As the weekend approaches, the clear weather is projected to continue, with occasional partly cloudy skies adding some variation to the seasonably cool autumn days.
Based on the latest reports, no significant weather alerts remained in effect beyond a wind advisory that had already expired. There were no indications of weather conditions requiring spotter activation or meeting National Weather Service warning criteria beyond what had previously been reported.
