NYC's Trick-or-Streets program is scheduled to return, providing car-free access to designated areas for Halloween-related activities. According to NBC New York, the two-week event begins on October 17 and will convert selected streets, plazas, and corridors into themed spaces, concluding on October 31.

While air traffic may be unaffected, pedestrianized streets across New York’s boroughs will see increased foot traffic with Halloween costumes and themed activities. As reported by PIX 11, the Department of Transportation is organizing the initiative, which will include parades, live music, and interactive workshops. The newly opened 29th Street Plaza, located between Skillman and 47th Avenues in Queens, will also be featured as part of the event.

As per report by NBC New York, Mayor Eric Adams commented on the event, declaring that every child in NYC "deserves a Halloween experience that is not only spooky but also fun and safe." With these street transformations, the city is also commemorating Día De Los Muertos, further widening the cultural embrace of the holiday season.

The Trick-or-Streets schedule includes a variety of activities intended for a broad audience. With live performances, seasonal crafts, and Halloween-themed events, the Department of Transportation is organizing the initiative for public participation. PIX 11 reports that a digital map is available showing all car-free event locations, including details on street closures and timing.
