Seen driving through Oxnard, Lopez was subjected to a high-risk traffic stop by detectives. The arrest, which occurred "without incident," concluded with the discovery of an unregistered loaded firearm and stolen property in his vehicle. An adult female passenger who accompanied Lopez was later released from the scene, the authorities reported.

According to the Nixle release, he was booked at the Ventura County Sheriff's Office Pre-Trial Detention Facility.
