Philadelphia introduced a new 5-in-1 application for property tax relief. The form lets homeowners apply for five different programs at once, removing the need for separate applications and deadlines, according to the City of Philadelphia.
Philadelphia offers several programs to help homeowners with property taxes. The Homestead Exemption can lower tax bills by up to $1,399 each year, while the Longtime Owner Occupants Program limits property assessments to prevent large tax increases. The Low-Income and Senior Tax Freezes keep property taxes at the previous year’s amount, and the Real Estate Tax Installment Plan allows seniors and low-income homeowners to make interest-free monthly payments. These programs provide financial assistance to seniors, low-income residents, and longtime homeowners, as reported by the City of Philadelphia.
Philadelphia homeowners can now use the Philadelphia Tax Center website to complete a combined application for tax relief programs. By entering an address in the "Search for a property" feature, residents can access the application, which is also available in Spanish. Enrollment continues as long as the property is the homeowner’s primary residence and the deed does not change. Each program has its own deadlines and eligibility rules, but the single application covers them all. For assistance, residents can call (215) 686-6442, as stated by the City of Philadelphia.
