The Philadelphia Streets Department will begin infrastructure improvements in the Lemon Hill area on Monday next week. The $1.5 million project, funded through City Capital Funds, will include street resurfacing, sidewalk upgrades, curb realignments, and accessibility improvements, as per the City of Philadelphia release.

The plan covers more than 20,000 square yards of pavement on Sedgley Drive, Poplar Drive, Lemon Hill Drive, and the Lemon Hill Mansion parking lot. Work will also include sidewalk and curb ramp upgrades, water service line adjustments, trenching, and backflow installations. In addition, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will carry out improvements on Girard Avenue, including ADA ramp installations and bridge repairs.

Traffic impacts are expected during the project, with lane closures, detours, and temporary no-parking zones in place until the planned completion next month. The Streets Department noted that the timeline may shift due to weather or other factors. Residents and visitors are advised to follow posted no-parking signs and exercise caution while traveling through the area during construction.
