A repeat offender is back behind bars in Allegheny County after failing to make court appearances not once, but twice. Bailey Loveday, a 37-year-old Pittsburgh resident, initially faced charges of felony burglary, theft, and trespassing linked to a 2023 house burglary through DNA evidence. According to WPXI, Loveday missed her preliminary hearing on October 8, which resulted in an arrest warrant being issued. Despite being given a new hearing date of October 15, she once again failed to appear in court, leading to a bond forfeiture warrant.

Held without Loveday's presence last Wednesday, the court decided that all the initial charges would be held for trial. In a pursuit to bring her to justice, detectives located Loveday's vehicle on October 8 at a Sheetz location on Route 51 in Pleasant Hills, where she, after being confronted with a bench warrant, resisted arrest, having access to several knives in the process. According to WTAE, following her release, Loveday was a fugitive until detectives found her inside a South Side Pittsburgh home this week.

The Allegheny County Sheriff's Office reported that upon their arrival at Loveday's door on Tuesday, she refused to open it, leading detectives to enter through an open window, according to a statement obtained by WTAE. Despite her refusal to comply with their commands to show her hands, Loveday was eventually subdued and arrested after some resistance. She has been transported back to Allegheny County Jail.

Due to these latest developments, Loveday is now facing additional charges, including default in appearance, flight to avoid apprehension, and a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest.
