Port Huron police cited three local businesses for selling alcohol to minors during a recent sting using underage "decoys." Out of 17 establishments checked, 14 refused the sales and were found compliant, as reported by CBS News Detroit

"The Port Huron Police Department would like to thank all establishments found to be in compliance and encourages all licensed establishments to check IDs to prevent underage minors from using alcohol," the department said. The cited businesses were The Raven, Bootleggers, and Señor Tequila.

According to the Port Huron Police Department on their Facebook page, three businesses — The Raven at 932 Military Street, Bootleggers at 402 Quay Street, and Señor Tequila at 321 Huron Avenue — were cited for selling alcohol to underage decoys. The Michigan Liquor Control Commission uses 18- and 19-year-old decoys with valid driver’s licenses to attempt alcohol purchases, and the legal drinking age in Michigan has been 21 since 1978. These decoys must attend any related hearings on Zoom, with each assignment lasting six to eight hours.
