Raleigh residents can expect traffic disruptions as the 3900 block of Blue Ridge Road remains fully closed for a water main repair. The closure, affecting the stretch between Homewood Banks Drive and Crabtree Valley Avenue, is expected to remain in place until 2:00 p.m. today. Parking restrictions are also in effect in certain areas as crews work to complete the repair, according to the City of Raleigh.
As crews dig in to mend the city's veins, drivers should anticipate delays and gear up to follow the detours. The end is in sight with work expected to wrap up later in the afternoon. The designated detour will redirect northbound traffic on Blue Ridge Road to take a left at Homewood Banks Drive, swing a right onto Crabtree Valley Avenue, and loop back onto Blue Ridge via a left turn. Similarly, those heading south will divert right onto Crabtree Valley, left onto Homewood Banks, and reroute back to Blue Ridge with a right turn.
Signage and local crews are on-site to assist motorists, and drivers are urged to follow posted directions and observe the strictly enforced parking restrictions. Raleigh Water has acknowledged the service disruptions and assured residents that repair efforts are being carried out with urgency.
