Ghouls and little superheroes are set to fill Teglia’s Paradise Park as Reno prepares for its fourth annual Trunk or Treat event. The celebration, a collaboration between the City of Reno, Dean’s Future Scholars at the University of Nevada, Reno, and Bernice Mathews Elementary School, will take place on October 30 from 4 to 6 p.m. The family-friendly gathering will feature treats, games, and music, offering a festive and welcoming way for the community to enjoy the Halloween season.

Revelers, young and the young at heart, can look forward to a carefree evening at 2745 Elementary Dr., Reno, NV 89512, as confirmed by a statement issued by the City of Reno. While costumes remain optional, the city's mayor hasn't minced words about the spirit of the event. "This is an amazing opportunity for families to enjoy Halloween together in a safe and festive environment," Mayor Hillary Schieve communicated, donning excitement. "We’re excited to have everybody there, so come in costume, bring your candy buckets, and get ready for an evening full of sweets and celebration!"

But this Halloween event isn’t just about spooky fun; it’s also about bringing the community together. Partners like the University of Nevada, Reno, Truckee Meadows Community College, and the Community Health Alliance will take part, along with the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows and cultural groups such as Latino Arte and Culture.

While the event is filled with fun and treats, it also serves as a space for community connection and outreach. Organizations such as Tu Casa Latina, WakeUpNV, and the Nevada Youth Empowerment Project will be at the park offering activities and resources, according to the city’s announcement.
