Residents of St. Johns County have a new reason to come together and celebrate as the Solomon Calhoun Community Center unveils its brand-new artificial turf field. The community is invited to a kickoff event slated for Oct. 18 at 8 a.m., located at 1300 Duval St., St. Augustine. Before the crowd cheers on the North Florida Wildcats in their homecoming football clash with the Baker County Bobcats, a morning of festivity will ensue.

Highlighting the event, amidst the spirit of competition, the St. Augustine High School Marching Band is set to perform, bringing lively tunes to accompany the ceremonial ribbon-cutting and coin toss. The planned activities aim to engage the community in embracing the new facility while highlighting its potential impact on local sports and recreation.
