Los Angeles residents can look forward to a blend of sunny days and patchy fog for the remainder of the week, according to the latest weather forecasts. The National Weather Service predicts that today will be sunny with highs around 81 degrees, and a calm wind that will pick up slightly in the afternoon. As the evening approaches, an increase in clouds is expected, and patchy fog will likely develop after 11pm, leading to a lower temperature of about 59 degrees.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, the morning may start off cloudy with patchy fog before clearing up for a high near 78. Winds will remain light, becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. By Tuesday night, clouds will once again move in, with similar conditions predicted for Wednesday morning. However, a change is in store for Wednesday afternoon with "patchy drizzle before 11am" and mostly sunny skies as the day progresses, leading to slightly cooler temperatures with a high around 70 degrees.
The forecast for the next several days signals a trend towards morning fog, which is expected to clear up by midday. Thursday will be mostly sunny after the early fog, with a high near 74 degrees, while the night sky will be mostly clear with a low around 57. Friday and Saturday will follow suit with sunny skies during the day and fog developing late evenings and into the mornings. Highs will hover in the mid-70s, and nighttime lows will stay in the upper 50s.
Coming into the weekend, the National Weather Service anticipates that the pattern of patchy fog will continue, especially during the night and early morning hours. Saturday’s daytime conditions will be partly sunny with a high near 75, while Sunday will see similar partly sunny skies and a high near 73. The evenings for both days will again be marked by the presence of fog, and mostly cloudy conditions, keeping Los Angeles in a gentle, albeit repetitive, dance with the coastal marine layer.
