
A residential area in Palm Desert became the scene of a burglary, where the serenity of a new housing development was disrupted by theft. The incident occurred on Warhol Lane, where model homes displayed the prospect for families now contended with the mark of intrusion. According to a press release from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, deputies arrived at the scene on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, and confirmed the burglary of a model home.
Investigators followed leads that resulted in the description of a suspect's vehicle, linked to Manuel Herrera, a Hemet resident. On October 3rd, this car was spotted by the Special Enforcement Team of the Palm Desert Station. Herrera, 49, along with Grace Pollard, 26, from Banning, were detained, and analysis revealed stolen possessions – specifically residential electrical circuit breakers – items belonging to the housing development.
Both individuals faced the stark transition from the alleged quiet acquisition of another's property to the glare of a detention center. Herrera and Pollard were booked at the John Benoit Detention Center, as per the department's update. They are facing allegations of residential burglary, grand theft, committing a theft with prior convictions, and conspiracy.
The Sheriff's Department encourages those with any knowledge of the incident to step forward, presenting Deputy Pouchoulen of the Palm Desert Station as the point of contact. The case remains open, with the authorities open to community assistance, offering the number (760)- 836-1600 for public response.
