The Tarrant County District Attorney's Office has publicly thanked the Haltom City Police Department for its role in a recent trial that concluded with a significant conviction. In a social media post, the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office recognized the department's efforts in a case that ended with a 40-year prison sentence for the defendant, Kenneth Dalhaus, age 46.
Dalhaus, last Friday, conducted an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, where a relative was stabbed in the face, and another relative was injured while intervening. Serendipitously, the incident was recorded by a child present in the home, providing material evidence. Revealed during the trial, it's been understood that Dalhaus is no stranger to the judicial system, harboring a history of previous assault convictions.
The jury, upon the closing of the case, found Dalhaus guilty, and he was subsequently sentenced. The Tarrant County DA's office's communications made it clear that this was not a first-time offense for Dalhaus but rather a continuation of a troublesome pattern. Officials, including ADAs David Tamez & Anthony Salinas, Investigator Lee Blaisdell, and Victim Coordinator Laura Medina, were all part of the team acknowledged by the DA's office in their gratitude post.
