A Waukesha County judge has set March 2, 2026, as the trial date for Nikita Casap, a teen charged with the intentional homicide of his parents. Casap, 17, faces ten charges, including two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, in relation to the murder of his mother, Tatiana Casap, 35, and stepfather, Donald Mayer, 51, as reported by WISN.

Sheriff’s deputies, dispatched after Mayer’s mother requested a well-being check on February 28, discovered the bodies in their home on Cider Hills Drive. According to GMToday, Mayer's body was found in a first-floor office with a gunshot wound to his head, while Tatiana Casap's concealed body was found in a hallway with multiple gunshot wounds. The medical examiner's office had to use dental records to identify the decomposed bodies.

Upon his arrest the same day in Kansas, authorities discovered not just the family car, but also a firearm, spent shell casings, ammunition, and personal items belonging to his parents along with their family dog, reports WTMJ. In addition to state charges, federal charges were being considered after investigators uncovered communications that suggested Casap was planning to use his parents' finances for terrorist activities and had discussed the assassination of President Trump.

Casap is currently held on a $1 million bond and could face life imprisonment if convicted of the homicide charges. The court has stipulated all motions in the case must be filed by November 14. Despite the serious allegations of conspiring to overthrow the government, no federal indictment against Casap has been released to date.
