The National Medal of Honor Museum is set to mark Veterans Day with a series of events tailored for both former and active-duty service members, and their families. On Tuesday, November 11th, the museum will extend its operating hours so that visitors can fully immerse themselves in the day's activities. According to the official announcement on the City of Arlington's website, veterans will enjoy complimentary admission, while active-duty military always enter for free. "Freedom isn’t free, and Veterans Day reminds us of that truth every year," Chris Cassidy, NMOHMF President and CEO stated.
The day kicks off with a variety of morning activities including a chance to meet and to get a book signed by Medal of Honor Recipient Florent "Flo" Groberg. Concurrently, locals will have the option to broadcast their appreciation by writing personal notes of thanks to veterans. Visitors can catch WBAP's "The Casey Bartholomew Show" from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and "The James Parker Show" from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., broadcasting live from the premises.
A significant attraction for the day, the Texas Veterans Day Parade, will commence its procession at around 5 p.m., with the following nighttime drone show promising a spectacular aerial display. Observers can locate themselves at various vantage points including VIP seating, specifically accessible for veterans, active-duty military, and museum members post-parade. The first floor of the museum will allow guests to linger during the show even as entries to the exhibit deck close at 5 p.m.
