Army West Point beat UTSA 27-24 on Saturday, ending UTSA's 25-game home winning streak against conference teams. Quarterback Cale Hellums threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to tight end Parker Poloskey with less than three minutes left. It was the first touchdown pass to an Army tight end since 2008, according to Fox San Antonio.
Army secured a crucial win over UTSA, clinching bowl eligibility with a 6-5 record before their season finale against Navy. Hellums "rushed for 88 yards, crossing the 1,000-yard mark for the season," while Army converted all four fourth-down attempts, showing both bold strategy and confidence under pressure.
After falling behind 10-0 early, Army rallied with Noah Short's 81-yard touchdown and strong overall performance. As BVM Sports noted, "Army's ability to thrive under pressure not only secured a vital win but also showcased key players stepping up when it mattered most, setting the tone for a promising postseason ahead," while UTSA finished the season 6-6 with potential to build on their passing game.
