Attorney General Dana Nessel has appointed Kenneth L. O'Deen as the new Public Administrator for Eaton County, where he will manage estates with no apparent heirs. "Ken has long been a dedicated member of the Eaton County community, and I am sure he will bring that same commitment to his role as Eaton County Public Administrator," Nessel said, according to the Department of Attorney General.
O'Deen brings extensive experience and a strong connection to the local community, which is expected to benefit residents. "His experience and knowledge will serve residents well," Nessel added, noting that county public administrators handle a broad range of legal matters related to assets and estates, as reported by the Department of Attorney General.
State Public Administrator Randi M. Merchant said, "I look forward to working with County Public Administrator O'Deen" and "I have every confidence that Ken will serve as an outstanding addition to the roster of talented and passionate attorneys that serve as county public administrators across the state." Kenneth L. O'Deen, a U.S. Air Force veteran, holds a bachelor's degree from Indiana University Northwest and a law degree from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law. He has over 25 years of legal experience in Eaton County, including serving as Eaton County Public Guardian and president of the Eaton County Bar Association. O'Deen has also been on the Board of Directors for Legal Services of South Central Michigan and supports the Charlotte Jaycees. He was sworn in on November 5 as County Public Administrator, as stated by the Department of Attorney General.
