As Baltimore takes strides toward a more connected city, Mayor Brandon Scott, alongside the Department of Transportation Director Veronica P. McBeth, announced upcoming expansions to the Charm City Circulator's Green and Orange Routes. According to Fox Baltimore, starting December 7, the Green Route will extend service to the East Baltimore neighborhoods of Broadway East, Oliver, and East Baltimore Midway, areas that have seen less transit access in the past.

With this expansion, the Charm City Circulator aims to bolster connections to downtown and major stops like Johns Hopkins Hospital and various Metro stations. "We're focused on expanding transit access in every single neighborhood of our city, especially those that have been without reliable transit for far too long," Mayor Scott declared in a statement, detailed by Fox Baltimore. Additionally, the Orange Route will now reach the Maritime Park stop along Caroline Street, offering continuous service to Harbor Point.

Significant changes in the network include rerouting the Green Route buses from Fleet Street and Broadway south of Fayette Street to serve portions of Orleans Street and North Broadway. This enhancement promises better access to key areas, including the Inner Harbor and North Avenue, illustrating a commitment to improving connectivity and service equity. These updates, as CBS News reported, fall under the Transit Development Plan created in 2021 to craft a more equitable long-term transit strategy.

For Baltimore citizens looking to navigate the updated routes, real-time bus tracking is available through the Passio Go! app.
