Three men are now in custody following a series of raids on Baltimore businesses accused of moonlighting in illegal drug sales. According to FOX Baltimore, the Baltimore Police Department's Southeast District Action Team, along with the strategic support of SWAT, Baltimore City Sheriff's Deputies, and agents from the Maryland Alcohol, Tobacco, and Cannabis Commission, undertook the operation targeting two smoke shops – Pulaski Convenient and EMonument Convenience – after months of investigative work.
The probe initially sprang into action from a single 311 complaint about unlawful marijuana distribution, culminating in the seizure of substantial quantities of drugs and cash. According to WBALTV, police recovered "around 65 pounds of marijuana, 205 vapes, more than 1,110 individual packages of marijuana, and $63,500 in cash." The officers' search spread across 401 N. Bouldin Street and 2108 E. Monument Street, locations that apparently served as fronts for the drug-dealing operations.
The detainees are identified as Muslim Ahmed, aged 22; Magdi Elroubat, aged 33, and Mohamed Ahmed, who is 37. The three face charges related to the illegal trade they are alleged to have conducted.
