A tragic update has emerged from Baltimore, where a woman has died after her car was found submerged in the Inner Harbor. According to WMAR2-News, the incident took place last Thursday when the 52-year-old drove her vehicle into the water off Eastern Avenue, between Piers 4 and 5. Rescue crews were dispatched, pulling the woman from the car and rushing her to the hospital in critical condition.
Initially, there was a glimmer of hope as reports from the Baltimore City Fire Department spokesman John Marsh, detailed by WBAL-TV, indicated that following the rescue, the woman was "conscious and alert" and was expected to survive. However, the threads of hope unraveled quickly, and last Friday, the woman succumbed to her injuries and passed away. Authorities are still trying to determine how or why the car ended up in the water, with no clear answers in sight.
The news of the woman's death has prompted an investigation by Baltimore police. The scene of the incident, documented in video footage, showed a significant law enforcement presence in the 700 block of Eastern Avenue following the accident. A secondary search was conducted by the fire department to ensure no other vehicles were involved in this mishap.
