
A 22-year-old driver died Friday night after his SUV left Beaumont Highway near the 10100 block, rolled into a ditch, and came to rest by a stand of trees. First responders pronounced the man dead at the scene, and westbound lanes were briefly shut so investigators could work the crash, as reported by the Houston Police Department.
The Houston Police Department said the wreck happened around 8:05 p.m., when a silver GMC Yukon headed westbound “veered to the right and left the roadway,” flipped near the tree line, and landed in a ditch. Paramedics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene, according to Houston Police Department.
Victim Identified
City officials identified the driver as 22-year-old Angel Gamino. The case is being handled by HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division, and the city’s notice listed incident number 073967825-D but offered no additional details on what caused the SUV to leave the road, per City of Houston Newsroom.

HPD has not announced a probable cause, calling the roadway departure “unknown” as investigators gather evidence and interview witnesses.
