Bellevue’s Robinswood Park will enter a construction phase on December 1 as the city upgrades two heavily used sports fields with new synthetic turf and modern lighting. As Parks & Community Services Director Michael Shiosaki noted, “Robinswood’s fields are the most used in our park system,” and the improvements are funded through the 2022 Parks and Open Space Levy, according to the City of Bellevue.
The refreshed fields are expected to reopen in the spring, offering upgraded spaces for soccer, lacrosse, and a future cricket pitch. During construction, most sports programs will temporarily relocate to alternate venues to accommodate the community’s ongoing demand for play space, as reported by the City of Bellevue.
The Robinswood sports fields are heavily used, with more than 35 community groups and over 2,000 reservations in 2025, plus many informal games. Bellevue will upgrade the fields with new energy-efficient lighting to support evening use and reduce energy consumption. While the fields are under construction, athletes will use other available locations until the improvements are complete, as stated by the City of Bellevue.
