A string of burglaries and identity thefts across Ventura County has culminated in an arrest, providing some relief to a community that prides itself on safety. A suspect, identified as 59-year-old Anthony Fierro of Bellflower, has been taken into custody following a meticulous investigation by local authorities.
According to a report, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Crime Analysis Unit and the East County Investigations Bureau - Property Crimes Unit joined forces to track down the individual responsible for multiple thefts at various locations, including medical offices and retail stores throughout Thousand Oaks, Woodland Hills, Moorpark, and Camarillo. The alleged criminal pattern began on July 3, 2025, when a victim reported their wallet stolen, and their credit cards used illegally in Los Angeles County. Fierro's spree of alleged thefts spanned several months, ultimately leading to his arrest on November 6.
It was on this date that Fierro was observed leaving a department store by detectives, with illegally acquired items and the most recent victim’s credit cards. "Detectives took Fierro into custody without incident," detailed the official account provided by Detective Daniel Smallwood. Fierro is facing multiple charges, including Felony Burglary and Felony Identity Theft, and remains in custody with his bail set at $400,000.
The Thousand Oaks Police Department has issued a reminder to residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activity. "If you see something, say something," the department urges, acknowledging that, although Thousand Oaks is an "extremely safe community," it is not immune to criminal exploits. The efforts of the East County Investigations Property Crimes Unit to inform and protect the community continue aggressively pursuing those who intend harm. In the aftermath of Fierro's arrest, local law enforcement officials remain vigilant in the fight against property crime.
For anyone with pertinent information regarding these crimes, Ventura County Crime Stoppers offers up to $1,000 for tips leading to further arrests and charges. Informants can ensure their anonymity, and calls to Crime Stoppers are not recorded. The hotline number is 800-222-TIPS (8477), offering a secure avenue for concerned citizens to aid law enforcement efforts within their community.
