In observance of Veterans Day, Boulder County has announced government offices will be closed on November 11. This includes the 20th Judicial District Court and the District Attorney’s Office, while essential services such as public safety and child and adult protection will remain operational. The public can access services online through the Boulder County website, where hours and holiday closures are listed, Boulder County noted.
Before the holiday, Boulder County Commissioners delivered a proclamation to honor local veterans and their families. Introduced by Veteran Service Officers Nick Morgan and Joseph Westbrook, the proclamation was a prelude to a celebration event specifically for county staff who have served in the military. An image of Boulder County Commissioners with veterans on staff accompanied the announcement on the official website.
According to Boulder County, the Boulder County Veteran Service Office is dedicated to assisting U.S. military veterans and their dependents in accessing a range of benefits. With accredited officers, the office operates autonomously from the VA, offering guidance and helping with the submission of disability claims among various programs. Additional details about the services tailored for veterans can be found at the county’s Veteran Services page.
Furthermore, Boulder County offers veteran-specific employment assistance via Workforce Boulder County. This encompasses a gamut of services aimed at helping veterans and eligible spouses transition into civilian work life. They are afforded Priority of Service, enabling them a leg up over other applicants in employment and training programs, as detailed by Boulder County.
