New Yorkers can expect a week of classic autumn weather across the boroughs, with the National Weather Service predicting a mix of partly sunny to sunny days with intermittent chances of rain and consistent high temperatures hovering around the 60-degree mark; Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island are all braced for similar conditions, which include west winds and occasional gusts that could reach as high as 30 mph throughout today.
The NWS forecast for Manhattan indicates increasing clouds today and a partly cloudy evening with lows around 44 degrees, whereas adjacent Brooklyn expects similar weather with marginally higher temperatures and slightly less intense winds, and while Queens might enjoy more sunshine today the rest of the week is slated to bring a shared chance of rain, notably after 2pm on Monday with a 30 percent likelihood, and conditions interchangeably described as mostly to partly sunny or cloudy.
Residents of the Bronx can anticipate a cool down towards the end of the week, with Thursday night's low dipping to 40 degrees, Staten Island forecasts from the NWS promise similar weather patterns, solidifying a typical fall week ahead for New York City's diverse neighborhoods.
In terms of warnings, the Hazardous Weather Outlook for the area provides some solace for land-dwellers, stating "No hazardous weather is expected at this time," a relief for city inhabitants but meanwhile, mariners should be wary as a Gale Warning is in effect until 2 pm EDT today for the Atlantic coastal waters including Moriches Inlet and Fire Island Inlet.
