According to a social media post from the Columbus Division of Police, a theft occurred outside a residence on Tuesday, August 12, at roughly 5:30 p.m. Surveillance cameras installed at the victim's home documented the incident, showing a black female suspect taking the delivered package from the front door. This footage played a pivotal role in the investigation.
The Columbus Police detectives worked to quickly identify the suspect, relying on the clarity of the security footage. The images enabled them not only to witness but also to definitively verify the identity of the individual responsible for the theft. The woman caught on camera was Takisha Hicks. In just under three months following the incident, police efforts culminated in the arrest of Ms. Hicks on Tuesday, charging her with felony package theft.
The arrest was publicized through the Columbus Division of Police's Facebook page yesterday, announcing that justice is swiftly to be served swiftly, and the footage gathered acted as an undeniable incrimination.
