Corona, California, became a site of deep concern and police activity on Tuesday when a suspect was arrested for the kidnapping of a young girl and the attempted kidnapping of another. According to the Riverside Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the harrowing call in the 25000 block of Santiago Canyon Road at precisely 4:13 p.m.
The situation unfolded when the unknown male seized a 12-year-old girl by the arm, trying to drag her into his vehicle. She broke free, escaping his grasp. This ordeal unfolded as the victim sought assistance from an adult witness nearby. A suspect description along with his vehicle details was swiftly relayed to law enforcement, who mounted an area search. Delory Sinclar, a 61-year-old resident of Corona, was apprehended in the 11000 block of De Palma Road in the unincorporated Temescal Valley area.
Investigators did not rest, learning shortly thereafter of a second attempted abduction of a 14-year-old girl before Sinclar's arrest. Both young victims avoided physical injury amid these frightening incidents. Following leads and acquiring necessary legal clearances, search warrants were executed at Sinclar's home on Blackhorse Circle in Horsethief Canyon, uncovering further evidence linked to the kidnappings and other potentially undisclosed crimes. Additionally, a considerable stash of illegal narcotics was uncovered.
Sinclar now faces the weight of the law as he was booked on charges that include kidnapping, attempted kidnapping, annoying or molesting a minor, and possession of illegal narcotics. He was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center with bail set high, towering at $1,000,000. As the community reels and the story unwinds, authorities urge the public, particularly those with any knowledge of the matter, to come forward, encouraging individuals to connect with Investigator Andrews at the Lake Mathews Sheriff's Station at 951-272-5600.
