Denver locals can expect a mostly sunny Veterans Day, with the emerging sun packing a side of breezes, as temperatures hit a high around 71 degrees, per the National Weather Service of Denver/Boulder. Winds from the west are set to calm down in the afternoon, making for a pleasant outdoor remembrance for those who served. "Breezy, with a west wind 8 to 15 mph becoming north northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph," detailed the NWS forecast. Tonight, the skies stay partly cloudy with temperatures dipping to a low around 40.
As the week progresses, Denver continues to ride the sun wave with mostly sunny skies and highs hovering around the 69 to 72-degree mark until Friday. The nights will remain moderate too, with Wednesday and Thursday night lows sitting comfortably in the low 40s, ensuring that late fall still feels more like a lamb than a lion, despite the city settling into the autumn season.
The NWS has issued a cautious nod to elevated fire weather conditions on Tuesday afternoon across the plains, which could see Denver's first responders staying alert. "There will be elevated fire weather conditions Tuesday afternoon over the plains," the Hazardous Weather Outlook warns. According to the National Weather Service, hazardous weather is expected today or tonight, so residents can continue their daily routines without interruption from Mother Nature.
However, an end-of-week twist is coming. A flurry of precipitation is on the horizon with an upper trough expected to glide over the area late Friday and Saturday. "An upper trough is expected to move across the forecast area late Friday and Saturday with a chance of much needed precipitation for the forecast area," reports the NWS. Spotters are not anticipated to be needed today or tonight, but their services might be on call this weekend as weather conditions take a turn for the wetter, bringing slight chances of rain and snow showers to close out the week.
