An eighth-grader from Ralph Waldo Emerson Elementary-Middle School, Inaya Smith, won the “Color The Roar” Detroit Lions coloring book contest, besting more than 50 participants from the Detroit Public Schools Community District. She received a David Montgomery jersey and a Lions swag bag, while second and third place went to Atithi Roy and Malia Vang, according to the City of Detroit.

School board member Monique Bryant praised the students, saying, "DPSCD students continue to impress us with their brilliance. The detail, imagination and heart they put into this contest reflect exactly why we do this work. We are committed to elevating their voices, celebrating their creativity and creating spaces for them to shine. Congratulations to all our winners, and thank  you to our partners for helping our students rise," as reported by the City of Detroit.

The City Office of Arts, Culture and Entrepreneurship and the Detroit Lions have launched a coloring book contest for young artists. It features moments from the Lions’ 2024 season, including David Montgomery’s overtime touchdown against the Rams and Amon-Ra St. Brown’s end zone headstand. Rochelle Riley, ACE Director, said, "We are celebrating the Lions in every way we can. We also want to celebrate our students and encourage them to follow their passions toward art careers if they are artists." The coloring book can be downloaded from the Detroit Arts and Culture website, as stated by the City of Detroit.
